MORE MIXED MEDIA DARK ART

I'm back again with another MM piece - must be the dark mood I am in this weekend !!!
Here is an ATC I have done for WW. The challenge was to be inspired by something on Pinterest and I found something that inspired me to go GIGER.

I made a background using plumbers' tape, dry wall tape inks and embossing powder. The image is my " Giger Tribute" digital image from IKEsART.
I coloured her and then applied 2 coats of Amazing Glaze. She was fussy cut and put onto the background using silicone glue. The photo didn't pick her up too well with the glaze, but she's beautifully textured in real life and looks 'wet' :-D

My Pinterest inspiration came from Deviant Art  HERE.

DABBLING WITH MIXED MEDIA

Good morning Peeps,
I decided to have an inky messy day today by dabbling with a mixed media project.
Now - I'm not so good with this. I see some awesome pieces of work in Blogland and on YouTube but when I try it I can never seem to get the composition right, but I am still plugging away LoL :-D
Here is a piece I made today to see what you think.........

I used corrugated card from a packing box as my background and then fished around for some other pieces. I took an image of a doll's head and fussy cut it and layered up in about 8 layers to make it 3D. Then I dipped it in my melting pot. It is quite deep but I had a small problem with the melting pot showing up the blobs of silicone I used to layer it, but it sort of looks ok.
The chipboard pieces are from 'Things To Alter' and the 'Imagination' word is a sort of thick card stuff. These pieces were sent to me by a great Friend.
Other materials are hessian, guitar string wires,  dry wall tape - which I also used to stencil the background, card leaves and a card key.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you are having a great crafting weekend.

BRING ME SUNSHINE

Hello Peeps and happy Wednesday,
I am back with another piece in my favourite colour.
This one is an ATC that I am going to put in a collection I'm making for a Pocket Letter to a new crafting Chum :-D  I haven't really landed on a Theme yet but this can be part of the Greek bit cuz that's where I live :-D

I used a piece of sunflower vellum for the back which I partially paper wove with some pale yellow paper, to imitate the squares on the stamped face. I stamped her onto 2 different colours of yellow card and then fussy cut and 3D'd the face with sticky pads.
The flower is from Samflora and I coloured the centre with Copic markers.
The image is part of the "Greco Roman Collage Elements Plate #50 ".

Thanks for stopping by.

ACK !!! I FORGOT

Hello Peeps,
Here I am standing in the Naughty Corner because I forgot someone's Birthday. !!!! I am a couple of days late but with DonkeyMail it will be even worse !! :-(
I made this little card and consoled myself with the  "it's the thought that counts " mentality ... or I could even go with "Better late than never "    :-)

I followed a sketch from FTHS and the image is from them too. The Sketch had a twist of using an image which was enlarged and cropped. I used one of the BirdBrains.
The papers are from a 6 x 6 pad called 'Friendship Glitter' from Trimcraft.
Image - ' Surprised Birdbrain '

Well - I am off to find DonkeyMail right now.
Thanks for popping in - see you later xxxx

THAT's SO FUGLY !!

Hey Peeps - I am back again quickly eh ??!!!  LoL

I just saw the latest SOSS Challenge and it's called F is for 'FUGLY' and it's tempting you to sort through your craft stuff and find something really nasty that you wouldn't use in a million years. !!
Well - a looooong while back I bought a set of paper pads from Paper Journeys and one of the pads is so disgusting that I wouldn't use any of it. !! I don't like the papers or any of the images, so it has festered in my stash for yeeeeeears !!
I forced myself to use a piece of the patterned paper with a cat trying to tear it's way out ............................ hee hee......

The background was made using an embossing folder smeared with ink pads in blue and black. I stamped the kitty and then cut open the Fugly paper to mimic the edges on the stamped image. I coloured the cat's eye with Copics.
I made some sentiment strips and stuck them on and Ta Da - there we are !!!

Paper -' Domestic Bliss ' 6" x 6" paper pad from Paper Journeys

BRIGHT SUNSHINY DAY

Good morning happy Peeps,

I have been away from my Bloggy for a while as I had my lovely Daughter and her family over to visit me for my biggy birthday !!! I had such a fabulous time and it was so good to see my little grandsons again. They change so quickly and the boys are growing up fast and much different from when I last saw them in August last year :-D Time flies when you are getting old eh ? !!! LoL

Well - the weather is a bit smeggy today so I decided to play in my craft room. I dragged out inks, texture past and a box of snippets to make something bright and sunny :-D  Yellow is my favourite colour - it always makes me happy, but I don't own any yellow clothes !  Not sure it would be one in my colour palette  since I am a Soft Autumn !! :-D
I decided to make another page in my smaller Journal and this is what I came up with....

I used lots of snippets of yellow card and the negative from a die cut on the background. Then I used another negative die cut and some texture paste for the flowers.
The stamp is called ' Jasmine ' from DE-STEMPELWINKEL and I stamped her with embossing ink and glitter gold embossing powder onto some card that I had dragged different shades of yellow ink pads over.
The Spring poem was from the internet but it doesn't give the author unfortunately.
I drew some edges around using a fineliner pen.
Thanks for popping in today and I will be back later to show you a ticket swap kit that I made for Your Paper Pantry. My kits are currently plodding their way to the US on DonkeyMail.  :-D
